Live Delay is 4ZZZ FM / ZED Digitals premier live music roundup.Traversing the lucky continents feverish live music scene, we close in and showcase a particular Australian zone each week, chewing away at some very special live recordings of independent artists.Made collaboratively with the assistance of many live-wired Australian community broadcasters, Live Delay is produced at 4ZZZ, Brisbane and distributed nationally by Community Radio Network, and in South East Asia by Frequency Asia.Catch brand new episodes every Saturday at 4pm on the Community Radio Network, every Sunday at 7pm on Zed Digital, and every Monday at 6pm on Frequency Asia. 04/07/2021 Duración: 55minThe Jensens + Luminescence: Live at Yonder Festival, Mary Valley, 29 November 2019 Singer/guitarist Joe White first began making music after returning from a year spent living in Uganda with his parents on a Christian mission. He met bass player Bodi Lowrie and guitarist/vocalist Nathan Kendall while in high school on the Sunshine Coast and together they played in various projects as teenagers. Moving to Brisbane to study music at the Queensland University of Technology, White met guitarist Jordan Aston and drummer Phillip Fabros. Together, the five formed The Jensens in 2013. Their name was allegedly the only one of pages and pages of ideas that all five members could agree on, taken from a brand of speaker seen at a local music shop. Soon realising they were getting more out of music by playing it than studying it, they dropped out of uni to put more time into the band. 27/06/2021 Duración: 55minMinor Premiers: Live at Sonic Masala Fest, Greenslopes Bowls Club, 7 March 2020 Minor Premiers are a Brisbane band that evolved out of the solo work of songwriter Luke Daniel Peacock, who was previously featured in episode 179 of Live Delay. Following the release of his 2015 solo album "We've Come A Long Way Darling", Peacock began working on new music with drummer and longtime collaborator Jhindu Lawrie. The new songs were recorded at the Queensland University of Technology by audio student Ayla Scanlan, who also contributed backing vocals and eventually joined the band on bass. James Watson stepped in to provide a second guitar and the band were formed. Their debut album, "Sheets in the Garden", was released in 2020. In 2015 he recruited Josh Coxon on guitar and Eddie L'Estrange on drums and together they recorded the albums "Lunchbox" (2016) and "WHO IS IT?" (2017). In 2019 they were joined by Durwin Anderson on bass and in 2020 released both the "These Guy EP" and "These Guy House" album. The band's name may wreak havoc on every sentence it's in, but their live show is undeniable fun through and through. Moving from Harare, Zimbabwe, to Australia at the age of 9, Mufaro settled in Brisbane and studied Jazz Voice at the Queensland Conservatorium. In more recent years he moved to Melbourne and in 2018 released the EP "Closer". In this set you're about to hear Mufaro was joined onstage by his band The Barehouse, made up of Brandon Enu on guitar, Nick Reynolds on keyboards, Yao Che on saxophone, Josh Willony on bass and Lachlan James O'Keefe on drums. They are back by an ever-evolving cast of percussionists, MCs and horn players to flesh out their sound. Building on a base of electronica, their music has taken influence from cultures all over the world throughout their career. They themselves have traveled widely, playing shows in such places as China, India, Indonesia and New Zealand, plus local festivals including Bluesfest, Yonder, Woodford, Falls, Splendour in the Grass, Peats Ridge and many, many more. 02/05/2021 Duración: 55minMiddle Name Dance Band: Live at Yonder Festival, Mary Valley, 30 November 2019 Middle Name Dance Band are a trio of established Brisbane musicians spanning many genres but brought together by a love of jamming and making people move their butts. The players are Sam Pogglioli, better known as producer and DJ Sampology, Megan Christensen, a.k.a. KUZKO, also from the band Pink Matter, and Sam Maguire, a.k.a. producer and DJ Sam Stosuur, who has also played bass for Astro Travelers and Tiana Khasi. The three started jamming together in early 2018 and at first only intended to release one EP together, but the positive response to their live shows and recordings led to them staying together. Middle Name Dance Tracks Vol 1 was released in 2018, followed by Vol 2 in 2020. Renowned for the wild energy of his live shows, Snaith has released a steady stream of Orlando furious recordings, beginning with the EPs "Popular" and "High and Mighty" in 2014, albums "Granite" in 2016 and "Named" in 2018 and most recently the 2019 album "Together", a collaboration with Hobart-based artist IAE. They create their sound with acoustic guitars, circuit-bent keyboards, hand percussion and beautiful vocal harmonies. 28/03/2021 Duración: 55minloulou: Live at The Zoo, Fortitude Valley, 11 September 2020 loulou is the project of singer/guitarist Louis Whelan, joined by Caitlin Callanan on bass and Talia Bond on drums. In 2019, founding Mouldy Lovers member Whelan put down the piano accordian and picked up an electric guitar to make stripped-down, thoughtful indie pop. In 2020 the band released their debut EP "It Spills Out". Recorded by James Potts Mixed by James Potts Sacred Blue: Live at The Foundry, Fortitude Valley, 28 February 2019 Sacred Blue are a Brisbane band who can kind of credit a dating app for bringing them together. In 2015 singer/guitarist Annie Kuzovina and drummer Vincent Smith matched on Tinder and shortly after began playing music together. Bassist Joel Bingham was later added to the mix and by 2017 they were a band. In 2018 the group released two double-track singles, "Spring" and "Winter". He is now based in Brisbane, and has released three EPs under the Mousseline moniker. Towards the end of this largely solo set you'll hear Revi's intricate guitar work accompanied by drums, courtesy of his Ghost Notes bandmate Cam Smith. He has been immersed in hip-hop culture since childhood and is an alumni of the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts. He has made several mixtapes that can be found on Soundcloud. This set of his you're about to hear was recorded at a 4ZZZ gig curated by the Indigi-Briz program that raised money for First Nations communities affected by bushfires. Live Delay - Ep 349 - C H U R C H
14/02/2021 Duración: 55minC H U R C H: Live at Yonder Festival, Mary Valley, 29 November 2019 C H U R C H is on ongoing improvisational collective with a cast of rotating members that sprung out of Brisbane's soul, funk and jazz scenes. Led by Ofa Fanaika from Captain Dreamboat and Chocolate Strings, C H U R C H started in February 2017 as a regular jam night at The Bearded Lady in West End. The band's music is largely improvised, with Fanaika encouraging audience members to take the stage if they're feeling the vibe. C H U R C H gained early notoriety when touring Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer sat in with the band for a session while in Brisbane on a world tour. Eventually C H U R C H moved their regular gig from The Bearded Lady down the street to the Rumpus Room, and have since played at larger venues and festivals, such as Island Vibe, Jungle Love and Earth Frequency. They've been fixtures of the national festival circuit for over five years now, and have released several live recordings online. Sisters Lil Pom Pom and MadTing are the MCs of the group, accompanied by DJ Returnagain on the decks and producer Madgif, who provides unique visual accompaniment at live shows; sometimes dancing, sometimes checking his phone, and according to legend on one occasion cooking a cup of noodles onstage. With their high-energy, hilarious and frequently pointed songs they have released a string of albums and EPs, taking out the number one spot of 4ZZZ's Hot 100 no less than four times. In 2019 Flange released her first solo EP, "Drunk at Uncle Greg's", followed by "Welcome to the Elephant Graveyard, Honey" in 2020. This set was recorded in July 2019, and she was joined onstage for several songs by Pauly D on harmonica and on the final song by Joshua "Sheldon" Adams on keys. 08/11/2020 Duración: 55minEGOISM: Live at The Triffid, Newstead, 21 December 2019 EGOISM are a band from Sydney's inner west centered around the songwriting partnership of childhood friends Scout Eastment and Olive Rush. They first began releasing shoegaze-tinged tracks in 2015 and the following year put out their debut EP, "It's Wearing Off". In 2018 the band re-emerged with a new, poppier sound with single "Sorry". Since then they've gone from strength to strength with a slew of catchy singles, the latest being "Here's The Thing", released in September 2020. Singer/guitarist Zoe Catterall has been the only constant member since the beginning, with the current lineup consisting of Hilary Geddes on guitar, Courtney Cunningham on bass and Tess Wilkin on drums. The Buoys have released two EPs: "Soft Boy" in 2017 and "All This Talking Gets Us Nowhere" in 2020.

With Sam Love on vocals and bass, Zar Harper on guitar and Louie O'Riordan on drums, the trio started off as housemates before forming a band and playing their first gig in 2016. The EP "I Love You Mum" came quickly the following year, followed by the "Ham & Egg Double" single in 2018 and "Natural Decline" EP in 2019. Live Delay - Ep 339 - Ancient Channels and Pale
25/10/2020 Duración: 55minAncient Channels: Live at The Zoo, Fortitude Valley, 23 July 2020 In 2019 Kelly Hanlon from Terra Pines and DEAFCULT joined with Chris Preindl from Leavings, Apparitions and Vestiges to start a new musical project called Ancient Channels. With Hanlon on vocals, guitars and keyboards and Preindl handling drums and percussion, they recorded an album called "Moments In Ruin". While trickling out a string of singles ahead of the album's release, they recruited an all-star team to bring the multi-layered songs to life onstage, featuring talent from bands including A Country Practice, Start Together, The New Middle Class and Julia R. Anderson's band. In addition to Hanlon and Preindl, the full seven-piece lineup of Ancient Channels features Elise Clark on vocals, Gerard Lawrence on guitar, Joel and Kelly Saunders on keys and Imogen Kowalcyzk on bass.
