Live Delay is 4ZZZ FM / ZED Digitals premier live music roundup.Traversing the lucky continents feverish live music scene, we close in and showcase a particular Australian zone each week, chewing away at some very special live recordings of independent artists.Made collaboratively with the assistance of many live-wired Australian community broadcasters, Live Delay is produced at 4ZZZ, Brisbane and distributed nationally by Community Radio Network, and in South East Asia by Frequency Asia.Catch brand new episodes every Saturday at 4pm on the Community Radio Network, every Sunday at 7pm on Zed Digital, and every Monday at 6pm on Frequency Asia. 11/10/2020 Duración: 55minSabrina Lawrie: Live at The Zoo, Fortitude Valley, 18 January 2019 Sabrina Lawrie has been a force in the Brisbane music community since the 1990s. Kicking off in 1996 with her first outfit Sabadah, Lawrie also played in the bands Tongue, Level Seven and Little Vegas & The Fuzz Parade before striking out under her own name. In between organising a new backing band, The Hunting Party, releasing singles and booking local venue The Beetle Bar, Lawrie kept busy in the early 2010s while slowly building up material for her debut album. Production of the album was put on hold in early 2016 when she suffered a life-threatening injury after falling from a balcony and breaking her back. It was a hard road to recovery for Lawrie, but incredibly she managed to finish and release her long-gestating debut solo album "Hush The Mountain" only a year later, in 2017. Since the early 2000s they have racked up a combined fifteen solo albums between them. Circumstances and commitments kept the three apart for some time before they reunited to release a self-titled album in 2019 and toured the country, accompanied by drummer Dave Williams from Augie March. As you will hear, they were recieved in Brisbane with a rapturous reception by a deeply devoted audience. Though they went through several lineup changes, violinist Amanda Brown, bassist Robert Vickers and drummer Lindy Morrison are most closely associated with this period of the band. 26/07/2020 Duración: 55minJeremy Neale: Live at The Brightside, Fortitude Valley, 10 August 2019 If there's a bright centre to the Brisbane music universe, Jeremy Neale orbits pretty close to its heart. A stalwart of the community for over a decade, Jeremy led beloved garage rock party band Velociraptor for several years before also starting up a parallel solo project that ventured into new territory. Beginning with a folk-tinged self-titled EP in 2011, Neale mined the 1960s for pop songwriting influences on his first few solo releases, including single "Winter Was The Time", which won the Queensland Music Awards' Rock Award in 2012. The "In Stranger Times" EP of 2013 followed, the title track collaboration with Go Violets quickly becoming established as a fan-favourite and feel-good modern anthem for Brisbane. Neale's subsequent releases veered towards a strong 1980s flavour with the EP "Let Me Go Out In Style" in 2015 and debut album "Getting The Team Back Together" in 2017. After winning the Josh Pyke Partnership for professional musical development, she spent two years building a name for herself with singles and tours until July 2019 when she released her highly-anticipated debut album, "Salt", which peaked at number 5 on the ARIA charts. A few months later, the Live Delay team was on hand at the Brisbane leg of the "I Made An Album" tour, capturing a breathtaking performance, a ravenous crowd and McMahon's skillful navigation of a minor medical emergency in the audience mid-song. Barely out of their teens, they've been remarkably prolific, with an impressive string of singles released in the past two years along with the EP "Until The Children Grow Old". Efendi has gone from recording solo in their bedroom to leading an accomplished, full-fledged band, as you are about to hear. Moving to Vancouver in 2017, Rezende first named the band "Invisible Girl", with partner Joe Saxby from These Guy playing bass. Olivia's World recorded their eponymous debut EP with established American musician Rose Melberg on drums, known for her work in bands such as Tiger Trap, The Softies and Go Sailor. Upon returning to Australia, Rezende recruited Tina Agik on second guitar and Ben Napier to play drums. Live Delay - Ep 320 - Augie March Part 1
07/06/2020 Duración: 55minAugie March: Live at The Old Museum, Bowen Hills, 17 August 2019 From humble origins in Shepparton, Victoria, the story of Augie March has wound its way through periods of underrated accomplishment, untimely deaths, six albums, national and international tours, award wins and nominations, and the occasional lengthy hiatus. Singer/guitarist Glenn Richards, guitarist Adam Donovan, bass player Edmondo Ammendola and drummer David Williams first came together in 1996 as tertiary students. The band name was taken from the protagonist of a novel by Canadian-American author Saul Bellow. The band's first two EPs, "Thanks for the Memes" (1998) and "Waltz" (1999) were released on Ra Records. For the recording of debut album "Sunset Studies" (2000) Glenn Richards's friend Rob Dawson was brought in to play piano, though he tragically died in a car accident in January 2001.
