Fortunately for us that not only did God create heaven and earth, He also was the author of some powerful traits of Christianity. Paul in his letter to the church at Philippi wanted them to know that it takes a mature mind to to move forward. Have you ever recognized that you were about to be thrown into a fire? Fear is probably the first thing that goes through your mind — fear of the loss of relationship, health, finances, fellowship. It’s usually hard to see beyond the pain and loss, but what the three Hebrew men in Daniel 3 found likely never crossed their minds. We can’t let the fear of the fire blind us to the fact that Jesus is right beside us, and our relationship with Him will be deeper as a result of our experience in the fire. In II Chronicles 20, there is an account of Jehoshaphat being under attack from his enemies. He did become afraid, but yet He had enough God in him to ask the Lord for help along with Judah. When the Lord moved on behalf of Jehoshaphat and Judah, not only did He give them the victory, but it took them three days to gather the spoils. In life, we may have problems and situations that come up against us but we can learn how to let the Lord fight our battle. In this teaching Pastor Dobbs shows us how God uses the church to take us from problem to promise just like He did for Jehoshaphat if we position ourselves in the right manner. Paul in his letter to the church at Ephesus addresses one of the reasons that God created us which is for good works. He reminded us that we are His workmanship and we were created to do good works. These good works help us to fulfill our reason for being. This gives us a sense of divine purpose. Pastor Dobbs will be teaching us that the work we do for Christ in the church and outside of the church is a part of the good works that God created and formed us to do for His glory. This week, we’re starting a brand new series for people who — from time to time and way more than they’d actually prefer — find themselves walking through the fire. Sometimes, we walk through fires of someone else’s making, but other times, we do it to ourselves. Regardless of the source, nature, intensity or duration of the fire, it isn’t pleasant. Even if walking through a fire is not an enjoyable experience, there may be a way to approach it that can maximize the benefits and provide greater understanding. Throughout this series, we’re going to explore five different principles based on the experience of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego that can help us walk through fires in our own lives. The first one we’re discussing is called the Fire Focus Principle.

In order for temptation to be valid two things must be true. There must be both a desire and the ability to fulfill a promise given. Satan will offer us counterfeit versions of the legitimate desires that God has given us. Although these counterfeits are quick and easy to obtain, the price the enemy exacts for them is much too high. Don't submit to Satan's authority. Don't forsake your destiny in God by following a short cut that leads to sin and shame. Know who you are, and hold fast to the promises of God. Today's message is entitled, "Kiss The Ring".
