The word of God is filled with so much victory so why are we settling for mediocrity? The promises of God do not come automatically in our lives. When God speaks, His word is settled in Heaven. Cornelius was a Centurion who converted to Christianity. He was known in scripture as a devout man, who feared God along with his household, who gave alms to those in need and prayed to God always. One day as he was praying an angel visited him and told him to send for Peter. After Peter visited his house and ministered the gospel of Jesus Christ, he and his household received the Holy Spirit, were baptized, spoke with tongues, and continued in the Word of God under Peter's teaching. Not only was Cornelius' life changed but because of the influence of Cornelius everyone who took heed to the Word was changed. Certain pieces of furniture are engineered to be put together in a specific way. You shouldn’t look at the picture and go from there; there are directions that must be followed. Some parts have to be assembled before others. If you just eyeball it, you’re going to miss something, and even if you can make it look right, it’s not going to hold up when you put weight on it. According to 1 John 4:19, God is the source of love, but if love starts with God, where does it go from there? Love originates in God, but it is designed to flow downstream in one particular direction. Some things have to come before others. If love out of order, it throws everything off in your spiritual life. It might look okay from the outside, but it won’t support the weight of life.

What happens in a pot that continues to heat up over time? Sooner or later it will reach the boiling point. Our culture is like that pot. It's currently under great pressure from the fires of change. You are an individual person with an individual purpose. You will never miss what Jesus has for you when you are walking in your purpose. You should strive to have the character of Jesus. Remain loyal to God.
