I then go on to discuss ideas around the problem with democratizing design, vilifying bias, and why specialization and diversity is so important for humanity.

I then get on my soapbox to talk about why banning 'politics' and similar things from work is not really possible. If anything, it actually standardizes the current political viewpoint of the organization and ostracizes people who come from very different backgrounds. I think we should instead be trying to figure out ways to have more meaningful discussions and instill psychological safety (ie how to have a more inclusive culture that encourages everyone to bring their 'whole self' and be the most productive/effective people they can be at work).

In this audiojournal entry, I share some updates on what I did over the weekend. I talk about what I learned from my mentors that talked about breaking down my idea into existing industries to learn how they do it. I then go on to talk a lot about company's vision and mission statement, going into detail about self-actualization, healthy transcendence, and why its important to have a solid foundation in good, humanistic psychology.  SB Kaufman's Transcend: The New Science of Self-Actualization shows how humans are not inherently evil, lazy, selfish, greedy or bad; he shares a ton of research that shows how and why people become these things due to unfulfilled, deficient needs and unhealthy transcendence.  This realization that people are inherently driven, helpful, explorative, and so on once their needs are met gives hope (ie actionable wisdom) for the cause of creating a better world by removing the barriers stopping people from meeting their needs and pursuing their growth.

Getting back to daily, purely audiojournal uploads! Today I am sharing some initial thoughts and ideas around SB Kaufman's book updating Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. I share my life experiences leading up to how I got my own understanding of this, and how I want to structure and organization around this idea of directly meeting people's basic and higher human needs. I then go on to share some perspectives and thought experiments about the nature of reality and scale of sentience.

- Matrilocal society was the first major successful family structure  - HGs had egalitarian society with biological-based specialization and roles      - Perhaps we can have a more equal society with skills-based roles  - HGs had no concept of scarcity, they didn't wander where they were going to get their food because they knew they could always find something      - Similarly, what sets apart 'developed' nations and middle class families from poorer ones is the fact that they can find food and water... you don't have to plan out how to get your subsistence  - HGs had highly involved child care in terms of education, play, character building, and self-sufficiency  - We value all of these today, but comparatively, we do not have as good structures  (Didn't get to talk about the following, maybe next time)      - With agriculture we traded abundance for future planning(?)      - Does scarcity drive innovati

I start this journal off talking about what we can learn and apply from hunter gatherer cultures: egalitarianism. I also ask questions about whether Google is net good for society. Though they have created massive value in the way of making knowledge more accessible, there is not much talk about the role they have played in the proliferation of 'alternative facts' and extremism; this is in addition to problems of data privacy, data collection, and data usage.  I eventually nerd out about water and the potential for *emergence* to be a better method of creating true artificial intelligence.

In this journal entry, I share some thoughts on what we can learn from hunter-gatherer societies in order to build a more egalitarian society.  I start off with some updates on my life so far: from learning more about interaction design and information architecture, to learning Axure, to designing complex datatables and tools for emotional intelligence.  I also talk about how/why I have been taking my time with developing my business plan. Going into depth about the importance of getting down to the fundamental issues behind the problems in our society today.

In this long-form podcast/journal I talk about some practical ideas for blockchain/NFT/crypto technology (ie for scientific rigor and communication) and then go deep into the delusion of scarcity. My research into hunter-gather cultures is uncovering the reality that for most of human history, humanity was *not* 'greedy', 'violent', 'selfish' or suffering from inequity.  These pre-historic cultures in fact lived a life that we all are trying to get back to as we figure out how to solve inequality, xenophobia, disease, productivity, sustainability, loneliness, lack of purpose, etc...    So I must ask... if these cultures got so much right... how can we learn from them? In this audiojournal entry, I share some thoughts on the overuse of marketing, a cool technology from RCT.studio showcasing dynamic AI behavior, the cost of progress, productivity vs quality, and the true use cases of NFTs. Also, I completely forgot to talk about Inequality and whether being rich is 'bad', the subjectivity of value, the life-ification of gaming, or information architecture LOL! Soooo expect another one of these soon.

In this audiojournal entry, I share my initial thoughts and notes as I get started reading this wonderful book!! Information Architecture is an incredibly important part of what makes our data-driven, super convenient world actually convenient and usable. I am excited to learn more about what makes good IA and think about how we can tame the Niagara Falls-worth of information we all have access to so that each of us can more easily find, manipulate, and understand the world we live in today.

In this audiojournal entry, I talk about my struggles to revamp my portfolio case studies to reflect a more competent UCD story than the Design Thinking ass I've been sniffing since I learned design. :P I also talk about why I am actually looking forward to applying to Microsoft. Then I go on a long tangent/rant about the failures of our society to learn from history such as Ancient African societies that were more egalitarian, sustainable, and far more developed than we currently care to admit. I hope to help humanity get past this era so that we can look back and realize this Dark Age of Ignorance that we live in... so that we can humble ourselves. In this audiojournal entry, I talk about what I learned about the San  people, the oldest civilization on Earth. They have kept their way of  life as a hunter-gatherer culture for 150,000 years!! I put forth some  ideas as to why that is and how our current day society can stand to  learn a lot from their way of life.   Specifically, I challenge myself and others to consider the idea that  our modern-day technology is actually a more primitive form of  technology than could be had if we perhaps utilized our consciousness  more directly (perhaps through psychedelics or meditation and such). I  know this sounds absolutely crazy, but much of our science today is  actually showing that our physical reality is NOT fundamental. Meaning  everything we perceive with our physical senses is a kind of a  'simulation' our minds are putting together for us. So perhaps those  many other ancient cultures were on to something when they regularly  used

In this audiojournal entry, I try to figure out what I want to build if given the funding to work on anything, without self limiting beliefs of what is 'practical' or 'realistic' or 'possible'. Just thinking about what I would be excited to work on every single day for the next 2, 5, 10 years or more. If Bill Gates or Elon Musk or some angel investors and VCs came to me and asked what I wanted to build with the full intent of giving me as much resources as I needed to build it... what would I say to them? What would be my elevator pitch? My answer so far: I want to build a tool that makes it easy for anyone, anywhere, to live a more fulfilling life. To link people to resources, knowledge, and people at the touch of a button. To make all of the technology and data in the world more transparent and accessible. I want to make it easier for people to make their life qualitatively and measurably better quickly and sustainably.

In this audiojournal entry, I share what I've been up to this weekend, some of my struggles with establishing and sticking with habits, as well as a realization that I may perhaps ADHD... From this I talk about neuro diversity and how our society disables neuro-atypical people through biased cultural values and norms. I thus end with some solutions to how we can better welcome other neurological architectures as well as make society a more robust and diverse civilization.
