The Toy Trucks have a new LP out next week. We've been lucky enough to have been granted access to a track or two before its release on September 6th. It's Jeremy Scott's brainchild and these ageing rockers are stirring up Memphis in the US. The Mama Cass inspired LP title is a precursor to a much awaited release. However, The Toy Trucks is not our only pre-release this week. Secondly to their track we have a bookend (and pre-release) from Vivian Girls. Welcome to another ear-bursting show bookended this week by the mighty Good Foxy, a likeable bunch of Northern lads. Their music has notable influences from the almanac of the greats, psychedelia, prog-rock and much more besides. We've been recording in Richard's home studio this week and play Good Foxy direct from the limited edition 1st pressing CD, hand numbered number 035. However, we are celebrating Woodstock, and particularly Richie Havens' epic performance on the inaugural day. Quite what Richie Havens was thinking as he walked onto that stage to see all those people in front of him is any one's guess. But we've got much, much more than Richie Havens today. Laura Jean Anderson returns to the show and blows us away with her soulful, bluesy, gospel-inspired White Stripes cover and finally wins over Richard. Her track is tantamount proof that she is an incredible vocal talent and her new EP Live From Studio Hotel Earth is bursting with more vocal prowess. The initial track off of the EP Lonesome No More is dripping with jazzy vox chops from yesteryear. Welcome to our Wax Time Special where we play all vinyl today, and all at 45rpm - that is except for Tobin's new music shot. We've got some cracking vinyl to play you today, and it was a difficult decision to make. We listened to countless vinyl records in preparation for this show, and many were left out of the final cut. However, it's not all bad news. Firstly, we saved some of the vinyl that didn't cut it and we produced some exclusive content featuring a few of those. Read on to find out more.
