On this week's episode, Graham & Jocelyn review 2 Netflix original series titled: The Woman In the House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window, and In From The Cold. Before starting with the topic, Graham & Jocelyn briefly chatted about what shows they watched during the week on their personal time. Jocelyn watched the HBO Max series Made For Love, starring Cristin Millioti, and Ray Romano, who plays father to the Millioti's character. Graham says he's finished the current season of Vera which is on Season 11 on Britbox, starring Brenda Blethyn. Graham decided to go back and watch Vera starting from season 1 which premiered in 2012. On this week's episode, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the Peacock original miniseries 'Dr. Death,' starring Joshua Jackson, Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater & Dominic Burgess. Graham begins by admitting he was pleasantly surprised with the series despite having sworn to never watch a Peacock original show. Jocelyn admits to being the one to blame for suggesting watching and discussing Dr. Death, and Graham concedes it was an absolutely fantastic watch. Graham & Jocelyn review the circumstances portrayed in the miniseries Dr. Death; all of which is based on the real life events of former neurosurgeon Dr. Christopher Duntsch, who performed some of the most atrocious spine surgeries ever seen in the history of medicine. On this week's episode, Graham & Jocelyn take a look back at the non-televised 79th Golden Globes Awards; which took place on Sunday, January 9th, 2022 via livestream. Graham & Jocelyn commented on the reason TV networks decided to drop the Golden Globes Awards after an expose by the L.A. Times revealed a culture of bribery, corruption and lack of diversity within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (H.F.P.A). Graham & Jocelyn debated as to whether some of the Golden Globes returned by prior winners were a sincere gesture of condemnation in light of the revelations against the HFPA, or a performative gesture for the sake of P.R. On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast, Graham and Jocelyn discuss Amazon Prime Video series The Wheel of Time. Starring British actress Rosamund Pike, The Wheel of Time is a fantasy epic not unlike Game of Thrones, yet with elements drawn from eastern philosophy. Graham & Jocelyn began by admitting they were late joining the party of fans of the Wheel of Time as Prime Video had originally opted to release weekly episodes of the show; which didn't fit Graham & Jocelyn's binge-watching style. Jocelyn admits she is not a fan of "swords & sorcery" shows, but was pleasantly surprised after she started watching TWoT. Graham & Jocelyn dissected TWoT both from the perspective of its metaphysical allegories, its philosophical nuances, and of course cast's performance. Graham had high praise for Rosamund Pike's performance while Jocelyn highlighted Pike's ability to play "powerful women" while removing any sense of otherness from the character. L

On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn ring in the new year by listing the TV shows and movies they watched during the holiday/Christmas break. Graham began by noting he took advantage of the holiday break to clean out his watchlist; which was full of shows he'd intended to watch throughout the year, but hadn't gotten around doing so. Jocelyn discussed some TV shows and documentaries she discovered and watched, among which was Cowboy Bebop on Netflix, and The Landscapers on HBO Max starring Olivia Colman and David Thewlis. Graham talked about binge-watching 'Being The Ricardos,' a behind the scene look into a week in the life of Sitcom legends Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Graham found the movie difficult to enjoy as he thought Javier Bardem wasn't the right actor to play the role of Desi Arnaz. The Harder They Fall became one of the most anticipated and talked about upcoming films in 2021 because it would be a Western film featuring all black cast; which included Regina King, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz,  Jonathan Majors, Lakeith Stanfield, among others. The film, although a fictional story, portrayed real-life historical Black Americans who existed in the old American West. Graham, Jocelyn, Geaux Dee, and Smash review the film's overall production from the story arcs, the portrayals, the score, and its visual components as a whole. On this episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast Graham & Jocelyn review the film 'The Many Saints of Newark.' The much anticipated film is a prequel to the HBO crime series 'The Sopranos," which at its airing time was one HBO's most successful and popular series before Game of Thrones. The Many Saints of Newark gives us a look back into the upbringing and the making of Tony Soprano, featuring Michael Gandolfini as a young Tony, the iconic role played by his father James Gandolfini, who passed away suddenly in 2013 while vacationing in Italy. Graham suggested the film may have left enough loose ends to warrant more subsequent films to come out over the next years. Jocelyn on the other hand believes the film's success might lea to another TV series, and making the movie was merely a trial or a pilot.
