On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn review the HBO Max documentary film The Janes. The film introduces the audience to a group of ordinary women who created a vast network of abortionists in Chicago during the late 60's and early 70's to provide safe and affordable illegal abortion to women in need. The documentary offers first-hand account by the women known as 'The Janes,' now in their late sixties and seventies, along with footage and interviews with law enforcement officers of the era. Graham & Jocelyn also had a discussion about the overturn of Roe v Wade ruling by the United States Supreme Court. The series premiered on HBO Max on April 7, 2022 and it's the first American-produced series filmed entirely in Japan. It stars Ansel Elgort, Ken Watanabe, Rachel Keller, Rinko Kikuchi, Sho Kasamatsu, and Ella Rumpf. Before analyzing Tokyo Vice, Graham & Jocelyn discussed "What Did You Watch This Week?" segment. Jojo finished watching the documentary series 'The Way Down: God, Greed, and The Cult of Gwen Shamblin.' Graham watched a HBO standup comedy special titled Rothaniel, performed by comedian Jerrod Carmichael in which he comes out as gay to his audience.
