It's thought provoking, entertaining, and delivers a somber message about choices, consequences, and how we react to them. It's also an interesting time capsule of early post-911 New York City. This take on the ripper legend proposes an elaborate royal cover up to protect the Victorian monarchy, the Freemasons, and the established class system. Just rich and powerful people doing what they do. Everything about it is breathtaking and beautiful, from the lavish costumes and natural light cinematography. The story is utterly compelling as well.
