S8E21 Angry Pants
11/12/2018 Duración: 01h26minIt's the two John's and Krys on as we have a full house. John passed a late fitness to come on. We have a road trip covering hot toddies to Scottish Football to angry pants to Scottish comedy. The TV fixtures for the Scottish Cup have been announced with the Ayrshire derby being picked. There was plenty of football chat with a double Premiership card, lower league fixtures and announcement of who Scotland will face in Women's World Cup. There is a shout out for the Santa Dash which is for a fantastic cause. We give a shout out to one of our listeners who is doing London Marathon next year and raising money for RNIB. Check out his blog on smtr76.com and follow his journey. The podcast goes off on yet another tangent at the end as we do a Scottish Comedy review. 03/12/2018 Duración: 01h38minIt's the cup final trio on this week and every other week usually. Only one of out of three were a winner though. There's plenty to talk about with European action, league business, cup fever, Scotland and some other obscure stuff. Keep tuned in till the end. Both Scottish teams had positive results in Europe and go in to their final game knowing what they have to do to qualify. The Championship opened up the league action with Ayr flying high in Dundee while Partick Thistle fans wish their players had been kept captive by the SAS. Arbroath and Edinburgh City continue to lead the other two lower leagues. Rangers went top of the league with a victory in Edinburgh while Livingston got back to winning ways. Hamilton continued their habit of winning when it counts as they pulled away from the bottom two. There was a power issue at Rugby Park but it wasn't their midfielder at fault. They won convincingly to continue Hibs current woes. Celtic won their seventh domestic title in a row as they defeated Aberdeen in th

S8E19 Talbot Highland Fling
26/11/2018 Duración: 01h13minTwo weeks in a row for a Talbot title, so you can guess which one of the Johns is on with Krys this week! First up, for the second week running, it's good news from the Scottish national team as they book a place in the B-Section of the UEFA Nations League, and give themselves a second chance at qualification for Euro 2020 should they need it. With the draw coming up on Sunday, we're all expecting the usual horror draw of France, Germany, Scotland, Brazil, Real Madrid and Georgia. On the domestic front, John had something of a mixed day on Saturday. Aberdeen were humped by Motherwell, but Talbot progressed to the fourth round and after a journey to Fraserburgh, the Arctic Circle and the Moon, a nice little home time to some local rivals was long overdue. Elsewhere the league, Rangers are excited at the prospect of being able to go top of the league next week as all they have to do is score their now obligatory late goals against a Hearts team who haven't scored since Noah was in their youth setup. 19/11/2018 Duración: 01h09minIt's the two John's and Krys on this week as they discuss what's gone on and what's to come. They start off with chat about the new TV deal and all are in agreement it's not a great deal. It's disappointing that BT have lost out when they've done so well talking up our game. There are positives though with Championship games getting shown on BBC as of 2019. Scotland had the X Factor or should that be the F Factor as Fraser, Fletcher and Forrest contributed to a fine win. There is chat about the lower leagues and how the leagues look after the weekend. The Irn Bru cup is also discussed with another great bit of organisation meaning a team couldn't play. The guys finish off by talking about the upcoming games at weekend in Scottish Cup and Premiership. Thanks for listening, feel free to tweet us @sffpodcast where we are going to be more active again and look out for us soon on Instagram.

13/11/2018 Duración: 01h13minIt’s the Two John’s this week as Krys takes a weeks break. As usual, there was a lot to discuss. Both Old Firm sides had contrasting results in their Europa League matches, and the theme continued domestically on Sunday. Was a red card shown in the wrong game? The rest of the Premiership action brought lots of talking points as Aberdeen moved into the top six, St Johnstone made it five wins in a row without conceding a goal, Kilmarnock became the first side to win at Tynecastle (can they do a Leicester this season) and the bottom two did little to enhance their confidence in a draw at Dens Park. Scotland’s upcoming Nations League matches against Albania and Israel brought the usual discussion on who should make the starting line up, thoughts on the latest withdrawals and call ups, particularly in the goalkeeping department. In the lower divisions, Partick Thistle continue to slide, Arbroath’s surprise march goes on and Albion Rovers hope the only way is up under new manager Kevin Harper. It was also a big wee

09/11/2018 Duración: 01h21minIt's the two John's and Krys on in another fantastic episode of the podcast. There's plenty to talk about as always. The guys skim over the midweek games but talk about events off the pitch in the Edinburgh derby. Both teams have suffered from a dip in form in recent games. Celtic continue to move up the gears and Aberdeen have picked up a couple vital wins. Tommy Wright is praised for the way he has managed to get St Johnstone going again. The lower leagues are covered with yet another managerial change. Ayr continue to fly high while Partick continue to struggle even with a new manager. In League One, Arbroath continue their unbeaten run and Dumbarton are rooted to the bottom. The Scotland squad was announced on the day we recorded podcast so the guys discuss what they think of the squad. The three of us all love a stat so we discuss the results of the survey from The Football Observatory in Switzerland. Thanks for listening and feel free to contact us on @sffpodcast on twitter.

S8E15 Smash and Grab
30/10/2018 Duración: 01h24minIt's the semi final winners podcast as it's the two John's and Krys on. There's plenty to talk about with European action, league business, cup action and more. There were mixed results for Celtic and Rangers in Europe with Rangers better placed to go through maybe. The Premiership saw just two games played with Hamilton getting a good point and St Johnstone achieving back to back wins. Semi final Sunday was a resounding success. The end result sees Celtic meet Aberdeen for the third time out of the last five major domestic tournaments. Could there be a chance that they split the games between the two venues again? The lower leagues are covered with Dundee United going well under Neilson and Duffy winning his first game as Dumbarton boss. If you think the men's game in Scotland in dominated by one team in terms of league wins then the women's game is in a different league. Glasgow City won their twelfth league title in a row. The podcast concludes with some Scottish Cup chat, James McArthur and the tragic eve

24/10/2018 Duración: 01h39sIt's the two John's on as they discuss the current events in Scottish football. There's plenty to talk about with league and Scottish Cup action at the weekend. There's another big weekend coming up with the League Cup semi finals taking place. Both games are getting played on the same day and are tough to call. The Premiership saw Celtic continue to hit their stride in the game of the weekend. Dundee continue to struggle in the week that they appointed a new manager. Livingston continue to exceed expectations with their terrific start to the season. The lower leagues saw Morton get victory against Falkirk in the return of Ray McKinnon. Gary Caldwell found out that the Partick Thistle job might be tougher than he thought and Ross County won the top of the table clash. League One saw Arbroath and East Fife continue their fine form. The Scottish Cup saw most games played to a finish but there will be one replay as Auchinleck Talbot host Cove Rangers. The podcast concludes with some Scotland chat with both women

15/10/2018 Duración: 01h19minIt's Krys and the two Johns as they review the TV shows from the last week. There is some football chat too thrown in. It starts with guilty pleasures and takes us on a journey back to some 90s nostalgia. The guys do as much as they can to avoid talking about Scotland but it can't be avoided. There are few positives to take from the two games. There is a fair bit of managerial chat as Gary Caldwell has got the Partick Thistle job. In other news, Barry Ferguson has been offered Kelty Hearts job. The chat leads to the Challenge Cup with Edinburgh City winning their first TV appearance in a great cup tie. That leads us to some chat about this weekends Scottish Cup games and young Stevie Mallan. Krys gives us the weekly woman's football report before the conversation changes to the lower leagues and upcoming Premiership games. The 90s nostalgia leads us to Italy and Tennents. Thanks for listening and feel free to contact us on @sffpodcast on twitter.

10/10/2018 Duración: 01h01minIt's the two John's on as Krys has to miss the podcast which I'm sure he'll get roasted for next week. That's kind of a clue as to why he missed it. The Edinburgh clubs remain on top in the Premiership but Hearts unbeaten run came to an end. Eight games in and everyone has lost at least once. There were goals galore in the top flight with only two teams failing to score. Aberdeen scored four against St Mirren for the second time this season. At the bottom end of the table, Dundee felt hard done by due to some questionable decisions and an unfortunate deflection. Europe saw mixed results for Rangers and Celtic with a win and a loss respectively. It looks like it could be a tough task for Celtic to get through the group. There is lower league chat with a few managers losing their job and yet another hat trick from Stephen Dobbie. He has gone on to sign a new deal which will delight the Queen of the South fans. The podcast concludes with chat about the national team and the withdrawals of Griffiths and Fraser. H

S8E11 Salt n Sauce Premiership
01/10/2018 Duración: 01h07minIt's John and Krys on this week as they discuss what's happening in Scottish football. Plenty to talk about with the Premiership review, the lower leagues, European chat and the Scotland squad being announced. The Premiership has a distinct eastern flavour with the Edinburgh clubs on top and near neighbours Livingston not far off. The guys talk tactics with two up front becoming trendy again though in different formations. Csaba won the Dundee sack race in the week that McCann got his first league win of the season. Ayr are on top in the Championship with Shankland continuing to be on a hot streak in front of goal. League One and League Two remain the same at the top too. The Scotland squad has been announced which looks to be a strong squad. There is a bit of chat about players and then choosing or swapping international allegiance. The podcast ends with a bit of chat on Glasgow City and the women's football which continues to be positive. Thanks for listening and feel free to contact us on @sffpodcast on tw

S8E10 League Cup Royal Rumble
27/09/2018 Duración: 01h09minIt's the two John's and Krys on. We had the missing podcast last week which Krys managed to summarise on the Twitter account. It's a strange occurrence as we record the podcast on a Thursday. It couldn't have been timed better, due to the decision being made that both League Cup semi finals will be played on the same day. The guys discuss the reaction to this and the potential issues this may bring. There is a fair bit of humour thrown in too about just deciding the tournament in one day. There is a Premier League review but the main focus is on the League Cup quarter final action. There are similar issues occuring at both Aberdeen and Celtic as they struggle in front of goal but they both advanced to the semis. Rangers had a fairly routine win while Hearts left it late to get the job done. There is a brief discussion on what is going on in the lower leagues and also Auchinleck Talbot's journey in the Scottish Cup. Thanks for listening and feel free to contact us on @sffpodcast on twitter.

04/09/2018 Duración: 01h13minWe're on the match with Shelley's army! France 2019 here we come! The two Johns and Krys are in jubilant mood this week at being able to utter words that haven't been mentioned in over twenty years. Thanks especially go to those wonderful Polish women who held Switzerland to a draw, a point Krys makes repeatedly because he thinks its funny. Its another bumper week as there's a full league fixture card across all the divisions, as well as the successful end to European qualification for two of our teams. The Europa League group stages away, although in Celtic's case there's some familar faces in there. The quality of refereeing comes into questions as per usual, with the ghost of Les Mottram being invoked while the old boys network on the review panel ensures Willie Collum is bizarrely vidicated for a second straight week. Meanwhile, Craig Thomson has his favourite red card out yet again, but apparently some tackles at Tynecastle are only worth a yellow. There's talk of the managerial merry-go-round which is p

S8E7 A Tale of Two Hartleys
27/08/2018 Duración: 01h14minTwo Johns on the podcast, two Hartleys featuring in the dicussions for a variety of reasons. Oh and Krys is here as well. After a week of Betfred Cup last week, there's a full card of SPFL league fixtures to discuss. The breaking news of managerial change at Falkirk is discussed in the context of the wider competitive nature of the Championship, while League One and League Two have taken an early shape too. There's a brief look back at the fortunes of Scotland's last two remaining European competitors as they both hope to progress to the group stages of the Europa League. Still a good chance they both could do that, so the thoughts are positive ahead of this week's crucial second legs at Celtic Park and in Russia. The Premiership review covers off a number of interesting topics, including questionable comments from the Motherwell captain, questionable tattoos from a Rangers goalscorer, questionable banners from the Celtic support, and questionable parentage of the referee at Easter Road. Our best wishes go ou

22/08/2018 Duración: 01h17sIt’s the two John’s on this week as they discuss the week gone by and what’s to come. The guys start off with chat from the European fixtures which resulted in mixed fortunes. Hibs went out completely while Celtic dropped down to Europa League. Last week we spoke about potential shocks in the Betfred Cup and we weren’t to be disappointed as Ayr managed to progress at expense of Dundee. All the other games went as expected. John was at the Aberdeen cup tie and was pleased with what he saw as they put in a great attacking display. Morelos went away with his first match ball in Scottish football as he scored the ‘perfect hat trick’. The podcast ends with a wee bit of chat about the lower leagues and news of the Scotland under 21 squad being announced. Thanks for listening and feel free to contact us @sffpodcast on twitter. A reminder too about the charity game that John B is organising on the 9th September at Falkirk Stadium. You can find out more info @jbleasdale81 on twitter.

S8E5 Kicking Me Softly
13/08/2018 Duración: 51minIt's the two John's and Krys on the podcast as they discuss the current events in Scottish football. We're straight in to European action as all teams remain undefeated after 90 mins. The guys discuss whether they think all or any of the teams will progress to the next round. The domestic matches of the three teams are discussed along side the European games. Once again the compliance officer seems to have been watching different footage to the rest of us. The rest of the weekend action in the Premiership is discussed after this with the two John's being pleased about the signing of James Wilson on loan. There was a screamer from Boyd in one of the other games but its not the game you'd think it would be. There is a quick summary of the lower league action as talk leads to who may be first manager to lose their job. The Irn Bru Cup continues this week with John B hoping Raith Rovers lose. This isn't just because he is an Aberdeen fan but is due to the fact that Barry Smith has said he'll play in his charity g

08/08/2018 Duración: 01h30minIt's the same trio from last week but without John's sound issues. Thankfully, everyone has managed their dinner too. We're straight in to European chat with the success of Scottish teams last week. Aberdeen were unfortunate not to join the other three as they took Burnley to extra time. There is also chat on where the teams need to strengthen and a contender for goal of the season already. John B gets a chance to promote his charity game for Beatson Cancer charity between Aberdeen and Celtic over 35s on 9th September at Falkirk stadium. He has some ex Aberdeen players who will be performing but is looking for some ex Celtic players too. The league campaign started at the weekend with success for both teams enjoying flag days in the top flight, the Edinburgh teams and Kilmarnock. The so called game of the weekend saw a draw with some controversial decisions and some interesting comments from Steven Gerrard. There is a quick summary of what went on in the lower leagues. After that the podcast concludes with Kr

S8E3 Where's Johnny?
31/07/2018 Duración: 01h15minThis week, Krys is joined by one and a half Johns as our host has connection issues. Hopefully that doesn't spoil your enjoyment of this week's discussion though. We start off with a look back at the first legs of the second qualifying rounds for our four European representatives. Still no defeats, with all four teams still in with a good chance of making into to the third qualifying round. We discuss the various prospects and chances of the teams doing just that. Following that chat, we look at the League Cup second round draw following the weekend's conclusion of the group stages, and pay particular interest to the fortunes of Hearts given the oddity of the punishment last week. Both the League Cup and the opening day league fixtures seem to have Rangers away from home in the stand out tie, and we discuss both sets of fixtures as well as a look at all our predictions for the coming season. You can read the full list of predictions on the SFF website. Predictions are back again this season, so feel free to j

S8E2 Morecambe and Wise
24/07/2018 Duración: 01h10minThe SFF Podcast pre-season continues with the return of Krys as host, joined by one John returning from holiday as the other remains on his. It's a bit like the Celtic first team squad returning from World Cup duty. Speaking of the World Cup, chat quickly turns to England's disappointment at an otherwise brilliant tournament. VAR gets some discussion after it's pivotal place in one of the best finals in living memory, while the tournament itself also went down a storm. A bit like Neymar. Closer to home, we're still four out of four in terms of European representation, although the pessimism is clear about how much longer that might last. Discussing third qualifying round opponents feels a bit odd given this was also the second qualifying round preview! But that's UEFA for you, cram in as many qualifiers as possible to weed out the wee diddy league teams before they meet the small fish from the big pond who get a bye to the group stages. And as for group stages, the Betfred Cup is well under way in the section

S8E1 Champagne Mondays
10/07/2018 Duración: 01h13minWe’re back for an eight season to preview the Scottish Premiership and cover what’s been going on at the World Cup. It’s the two John’s who are on and they start off with the World Cup. The guys discuss whether it’s possibly the best one they’ve watched. There has certainly been plenty of drama with a few big teams going out early and a chance for a new winner if Belgium or Croatia are successful. The first Scottish team to return to competitive action will be Celtic as they aim to negotiate four qualifying rounds to get to group stages of Champions League. Hibs and Rangers face the same fate as they try to get to group stages. Aberdeen got the the toughest tie as they drew Burnley in the second qualifying round. Hearts and Rangers have been the busiest clubs in the transfer market ahead of the new season. Celtic, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone have been the quietest with only two signings each. It’s too early for predictions so we’ll make them later on. If you want to contact us then tweet us @sffpodcast on Twi
