  • WC2018E1 World Cup Special

    12/06/2018 Duración: 01h36min

A world cup special for you all this time round, with John hosting and being joined by Tony and Krys. Prepare for three guys all reminiscing about their childhoods coinciding with Italia 90. The chat meanders all the way back to the 1950s up to present day as we reflect on the highs, the lows, the greats and the not so greats of World Cup football. Remember when Scotland used to qualify? The different ways to get knocked out of the group stages? That feeling when we opened France 98? Merchandise, music, who to support when your team isn't there, and predictions of what we might see in Russia. This is a long one, but that's what happens when three guys get together to talk about the football they remember when football was everything to them. Feel free to contact us on twitter sffpodcast

    21/05/2018 Duración: 01h19min

We have a trio on this week as the two John's are joined by Krys who returns. A good week for him to return as Celtic clinched the treble and made it a double treble. We couldn't add to the charity pot at the weekend but we've managed to win £671.32 this season. The charity we've chosen to donate to is the Chris Mitchell Foundation. You can find out more about the charity on cm.foundation.org.uk Livingston managed to secure back to back promotions after defeating Partick Thistle. The guys discuss whether Archibald will stay or go. It's the week of the Scottish Junior Cup final and John gives a bit of insight in to it. Can Auchinleck Talbot win it for the twelfth time or will Hurlford win it for a second time? There is also a wee bit of chat about Scotland with the end of season games to come. The guys discuss some of their highlights from the season and then have a bit of wrestling chat with the news of Grant Holt taking it up. Thanks to everyone who has been on the podcast this season. Hope to have you all b

    15/05/2018 Duración: 01h18min

It’s the two John’s as they discuss the week gone by and what’s to come. It’s been an eventful season with three games to come. Can Livingston complete the job or will Partick Thistle preserve their Premiership status? Will Celtic complete the double treble or can Motherwell stop them? The guys discuss the playoffs so far with it being a mixed bag in terms of teams going up against teams remaining in the league they’re in. Ross County looked like they may avoid automatic relegation but it was not to be. Aberdeen managed to win for the first time in league since 2004 at Celtic which clinched second place for the fourth season in a row. The game of the season took part at Easter Road where Hibs managed to come away with a draw after being 3-0 up. The Scotland squad was announced with a few high profile players being excused. It will be a good chance for others to impress McLeish. The guys preview the Scottish Cup and discuss whether Motherwell can stop Celtic. The game gives us our last charity bet of the seaso

    10/05/2018 Duración: 01h25min

Tony makes his second appearance on the podcast as he joins the two John’s. The charity bets were unsuccessful as we look to get over the £700 mark. The playoffs are in full swing with Raith being sick of the sight of Alloa. There will be at least two new teams in League One next season as Queen’s Park drop down to League Two. In the Premiership, second place and relegation is yet to be decided. After tonight we know Hibs can’t finish second. Aberdeen remain unbeaten after the split as they look to secure second again. Its all to play for on the last day of the season. In terms of relegation, it’s going to be either Partick Thistle or Ross County. Predictions are made with the guys not agreeing on any results. Charity bets are chosen though. Thanks as always to McBookie for their support. The guys finish up with talking up our game after Gerrard was announced as new Rangers manager. At that point, it was suggested that it was the lift that Scottish football needed. People forget though are plenty good things

  • S7E38 Rangers PR is Murtyfying

    02/05/2018 Duración: 52min

t’s the two John’s again to discuss an eventful week in Scottish football. The charity bets were unsuccessful but we have a belter for the upcoming weekend if it comes in. Hibs managed to clinch the youth double as they beat Aberdeen in the Youth Cup final. They were a bit more streetwise than the young Dons side. It was a good week for Ayr, Montrose and Celtic as they all clinched their respective league titles. The playoffs have now started so it’s all to play for in terms of who gets promoted, relegated or remain where they are. The playoff between Cove Rangers and Spartans saw the Highland league team win 4-0. They will be firm favourites to face Cowdenbeath in the Pyramid playoff. In the Premiership, the race continues to be exciting in the quest for second place. Aberdeen and Hibs both got favourable results ahead of their meeting this Saturday. Rangers though were demolished by rivals Celtic. This led to Murty being sacked with three games to go as speculation increases that Steven Gerrard will take th

  • S7E37 Doncaster's Fixture Farce

    24/04/2018 Duración: 01h02min

The two John’s are on to discuss the current events in Scottish football. There is good news to start with as the charity bet treble with McBookie came in. That takes us closer to the £700 mark. The champions in League One and League Two have yet to be decided with only one set of fixtures left to be played. The Junior Cup final has been decided with Auchinleck Talbot and Hurlford securing their places. The game takes place on 27th May at Rugby Park. Auchinleck Talbot will look to secure their 12th win in the competition while Hurlford look to win for the second time. In the Premiership, we have reached the point where Celtic can secure the league against Rangers. After the farce that led to fixtures being announced, the authorities look very foolish. McInnes continues to have the upper hand against Clarke’s Kilmarnock as they continued their fantastic record against the men from Ayrshire. It’s all to play for in terms of the European places with Hibs and Rangers both winning. At the other end of the table, P

    18/04/2018 Duración: 56min

It’s back to being the two John’s on the podcast as they discuss what’s been going on in Scottish football. Both the McBookie charity bets were unsuccessful as the team look to get closer to the £700 mark. There are congratulations in order as St Mirren confirmed their promotion back to the top flight as Champions after their result at the weekend. The winners in the three other leagues have yet to be decided. The semi finals of the Scottish Cup resulted in Motherwell and Celtic going through which means there will be a repeat of their meeting in the League Cup final. Both guys agree that Motherwell are well equipped to cause Celtic problems and win their first Scottish Cup since 1991. The fixtures have finally been decided for the Premiership split and after all the fuss about not having Celtic playing for the title against Rangers, it has been scheduled as their second game. Celtic can clinch the title before that if results go their way at the weekend. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks a

  • S7E35 John's Dream

    11/04/2018 Duración: 01h08min

We have a trio this week as the two John’s are joined by Craig who makes a welcome return. There are a couple of tributes to start with as John Lambie and Ray Wilkins passed away this week. After the success of our treble last week, we had a stinker this week with none of our picks being successful. The Premiership review focuses primarily on Rangers with Craig being on as he has a season ticket. Celtic edged closer to the title if the games after the split are ever decided. That leads on to discussion with how embarrassing it is that our governing bodies can’t decide on the fixtures. Partick Thistle continued their poor form and now look to be favourites for the drop. The Scottish Cup semis are previewed with all the guys worried about their respective teams. All are in agreement that Celtic will get to the final but the other tie they’re not so sure about. Who. Will be effected more by the players that are missing? There is only one Premiership game at the weekend with one of the teams being included in the

  • S7E34 Dicker's Flicker

    03/04/2018 Duración: 53min

It’s the two John’s once again to discuss the recent events in Scottish football. There is good news as our charity bet treble won to take us over the £600 mark for the season. The Premiership returned with Kilmarnock continuing their fine home form in the week that four players signed new contracts. The race for second place continues to be exciting with Rangers dropping points and the other contenders winning. Celtic won to edge closer to a seventh title in a row. West Brom lost another manager so the guys discuss whether it is a job that Derek McInnes could be interested in. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to McBookie for your support.

  • S7E33 Scottish Pyramid

    29/03/2018 Duración: 53min

It’s the two John’s on to discuss the current events in Scottish football. The podcast starts with an alternative chat about the lower leagues and the potential extension to the pyramid. It’s an interesting chat as there is plenty to be decided before plans can be approved. Scotland’s start under McLeish was mixed with a defeat and a win. It was good to see a number of debutants with players doing enough to be involved in future squads. The guys discuss who else may be considered. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to McBookie for their support.

  • S7E32 Roll and Pie

    12/03/2018 Duración: 01h23min

We have a fresh voice on the podcast as Tony makes his first appearance along with the two John’s. There is plenty to talk about with usual stuff like charity bets, Premiership review, predictions and charity bet choices for upcoming games. We managed to get a win in one of our charity bets. There is plenty to cover in the Premiership with a few derbies getting played. The weekend started with Hibs overcoming City rivals Hearts to change the ‘natural order’. Hamilton and Celtic were the other teams to gain victories. Aberdeen continued their indifferent form. That leads on to some chat about how their season might end if they lose Scottish Cup replay. The Scotland squad was announced with plenty of fresh faces which pleased the guys. Hopefully most of them get their chance to impress. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to @McBookie for your support.

  • S7E31 Cabin Fever

    07/03/2018 Duración: 44min

It’s the two John’s again to discuss what’s gone on in Scottish football over the last week. The league fixtures at the weekend were wiped out so there are just the Scottish Cup ties to discuss. There ended up being no charity bets due to games being called off. Three ties were decided at the weekend in the cup with the result of Aberdeen and Kilmarnock to be decided in a replay. As expected, Celtic and Rangers won comfortably. The other tie saw Motherwell edge things against Hearts. There is some good news in terms of the national team as Scott McTominay has opted to play for Scotland. It will be interesting to see who is involved in upcoming squad. Charity bets are chosen and predictions made. Thanks as always to McBookie for their support. Once again, if you fancy joining us on the podcast or have any feedback, contact us on @sffpodcast on Twitter.

  • S7E30 Fox's Helping Hand

    26/02/2018 Duración: 01h03min

It’s the two John’s again to discuss the recent events in Scottish football and what lies ahead. Our charity bets were unsuccessful though we were unlucky with the FGS bet. There is a brief chat with regards to Celtic being knocked out of Europe though they can now concentrate on their quest for back to back trebles. Was the weekend a preview of the split as the top six and bottom six faced each other? The guys discuss Sunday’s game and Aberdeen’s tactics come in to question. Rangers continued their fine form, as did Kilmarnock. At the other end of the table St Johnstone got their first home win of since September and Hamilton won their first game of 2018. Scott Brown has announced his international retirement for the second time. The guys discuss the possible candidates as to who may replace him in the upcoming friendlies. The Scottish Cup is previewed and predictions are made for two Premiership weekend games. The charity bets are chosen after this. Thanks as always to McBookie. If anyone fancies coming on

  • S7E29 Pies on the Fence

    21/02/2018 Duración: 53min

It’s the two John’s once again with the weekly chat about Scottish football. It’s starts with the charity bet news where we failed to win anything this week. Celtic are praised for their win against Zenit which leaves tie nicely poised for Thursday’s return fixture. They didn’t fare so well in the league though as they dropped points for the ninth time this season. Hibs put themselves in the mix for second place as they beat Aberdeen and Rangers won to go back in to second. Kilmarnock continued their fine form with another two wins since we were last on. At the other end of the table, it was a good weekend for Dundee with Ross County and St Johnstone picking up valuable point (s). Scotland finally have a manager and its a return for Alex McLeish. The guys are rather uninspired but shall wait and see if there is a change in approach in terms of selecting the squad. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to McBookie for your support. There is a wee bit of pie chat to conclude the podcast

  • S7E28 Cup Tie Mackay-Steven

    13/02/2018 Duración: 01h01min

The two John’s are on to discuss the events in Scottish football. There is good news to start with as one of our charity bets won. We are now edging closer to the £600 mark. Sadly, Liam Miller passed away last week. John B has written a blog about his career in football. Thoughts from all at the podcast are with his family and friends. The Scottish Cup fifth round saw no real shocks. The guys cover the games and this coincides with chat about the league and teams who are doing well or struggling. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to McBookie for your support.

  • S7E27 Shambolic Scotland Seek Staff

    06/02/2018 Duración: 52min

It’s the two John’s on again as they discuss the recent events in Scottish football. Our charity bets were unsuccessful unfortunately as Dundee let us down against Ross County who prior to the game couldn’t buy a win. It was a weekend that saw both old firm teams lose. Kilmarnock continued their impressive home form and both Edinburgh teams won. Aberdeen won again to make it three wins in a row. The guys preview the Scottish Cup which gives John B the chance to plug some blogs. The saga continues with Scotland still seeking a new manager. They now need a new chief executive too as Regan resigned. It seems like a never ending saga as the guys discuss possible candidates for job as manager. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to McBookie for your support. Feel free to tweet us @sffpodcast with any feedback.

  • S7E26 Badcock Screws the Bet

    30/01/2018 Duración: 01h01min

It’s the two John’s as the Premiership returns to action with a double header. There was no luck with the charity bet as both bets were unsuccessful. Rangers have made some good acquisitions in the transfer window and have been rewarded with back to back wins. Aberdeen had mixed fortunes with losing against Rangers but beating Kilmarnock who had been on good form. Hearts clean sheet record ended and Partick Thistle got their first away win in the league this season. There is not long left before the transfer window ends so there should hopefully be plenty to talk about next week. The Scotland job is still vacant as Michael O’Neill rejected the chance to take over. The guys discuss the other possible candidates though it doesn’t look like we are any closer to having a new manager ahead of our upcoming friendlies. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to @McBookie for your support. There is good news to end with as Aberdeen City Council voted in favour of Kingsford. The John’s won’t bel

  • S7E25 Up for the Cup

    16/01/2018 Duración: 44min

The guys return after their own winter break. It’s the two John’s who are on the first podcast of 2018. The Premiership has been on a break with some teams in sunnier climates. There has been some transfer activity with Rangers turning in to The Loan Rangers. There hasn’t been a lot of activity at the bottom end of table but I’d guess things will get busier in the next week. We have the Scottish Cup to look forward to at the weekend. Will there be any shocks? Check out the current blog from @jbleasdale81 and his upcoming one on Thursday. It appears there may be some kind of progress with who will get the Scotland job. Michael O’Neill has been approached so hopefully that can be resolved soon. There are no charity bets this weekend with it being the cup so there are no predictions as normal. Thanks to McBookie for your support so far this season and in the past.

  • S7E24 Boyd Did They Deliver

    30/12/2017 Duración: 43min

It's the two John's for the last podcast of 2017. The charity bets were unsuccessful as Ayr let us down on our treble. The other bet saw our pick score but not first. There is plenty of Premiership action to discuss as there has been two sets of fixtures since we were last on air. I know there was Celtic's game against Partick Thistle too. Since their domestic unbeaten run was ended, Celtic have recovered to take nine points out of nine and have three clean sheets. Hearts have stretched their unbeaten run to eight games with five consecutive clean sheets. That should have ended in the Edinburgh derby with the 'goal' that wasn't given. Aberdeen have found a bit more consistency since McInnes confirmed he was staying with only one loss against Celtic being a setback. Rangers continue to be inconsistent as they lost to Kilmarnock. The Ayrshire side have been transformed under Clarke and have won three home games in a row for the first time in almost ten years. St Johnstone's form has improved but they still have

  • S7E23 Winter of 69

    19/12/2017 Duración: 01h09min

It's not the three wise men tonight, instead you've got John, John B and Aidan. There is good news to start with as we won our treble bet to take us above £500 for the season so far. Aidan joins us in the week that Celtic's run of unbeaten games stopped at 69 with a right good pumping. We need to thank Krys for that (the quote, not the pumping). Aberdeen continued their fine form since McInnes confirmed he was staying. Hibs have a had a bad week. Kilmarnock won back to back games at home while St Johnstone overturned Rangers at Ibrox. Predictions are made and charity bets chosen. Thanks as always to McBookie. Hope all our listeners have a great Christmas. We hope to be on next week but it will be later than normal. Keep an eye on @sffpodcast on Twitter.
