President Trump’s upcoming announcement of his nominee for the Supreme Court has brought the issue of abortion and Roe v. Wade to the forefront this election season. Last night Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg died. Justice Ginsburg was only the second woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. She was 87. The cause of death was metastatic pancreatic cancer, according to a statement from the court. Ginsberg served for over 27 years. By now, you have heard about the controversy surrounding the Netflix film Cuties. Let me clear, I have seen the movie nor do I plan on doing so. But I have seen and read enough to join the chorus of condemnation. We are experiencing nothing short of a moral and cultural revolution in America. This is in large part due to the rejection of truth and adoption of the post modern view. Post modernism is a western philosophy of the late 20th and early 21st century movement characterized by broad skepticism, subjectivism, or relativism; a general suspicion of reason; and an acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining political and economic power. So, how do we shape culture in a post-modern world? There are three possible responses: 1. Become idealistic, naïve, and live in denial by offering only platitudes.
