  • Live Delay - Ep 277 - Turnpike and To The North

    04/05/2019 Duración: 55min

Turnpike: Turnpike are one of those bands that are that really-cool-wise-person’s favourite band and when you listen to them you understand why. They are force of nature and are unrelenting in their pursuit of putting out incredible music. That being said, they can wait a while for new releases they have released three records in the 17 years of existence. However, they have cultivated a remarkably loyal fan base who hang on every new bit of material and show that they perform. Their music is brutal, heavy but so beautifully intricate as well and truly taps into a primal energy. They released ‘no title’ in 2002, followed up by ‘Humans Find Patterns’ and then 2016’s ‘Where There Is Nothing’. Turnpike are comprised of Chris Bryant, Tim Evans and Adam King and are nothing short of a powerhouse. The live show is intense and on this night, there was truly a feeling of getting to see a collective favourite on stage. Performing Live at the Our Sounds Festival at the Foundry on the 6th of April, 2019. To Th

  • Live Delay - Ep 276 - RAZAR

    04/05/2019 Duración: 55min

RAZAR: RAZAR started out in 1976 out of Mt Gravatt a suburb just outside of Brisbane. Teens at the time, two brothers Greg Wackley and Robert Wackley, making up the rhythm section on drums and bass respectively, joined up with Marty Burke on vocals and Steven Mee on guitar. A garage band, they played their first gig at the Atcherley Hotel and then played regularly the few venues that were around at the time. As punks at punk gigs, the band regularly saw the over-reaction and violence from police which ended up seeing them create the iconic track ‘Task Force’. As one of the most iconic members of this scene at the time, they reformed for White Chairs Volume Two to a significant fan base remembering their youth and a whole new generation of fans who never thought they’d get the chance to see such a band. Recorded Live at The Triffid on the 14th of October 2018 at Return to White Chairs Volume Two, this is RAZAR.

  • Live Delay - Ep 275 - Return To White Chairs Vol. 2

    04/05/2019 Duración: 55min

Return to White Chairs Vol 2.: For this week's episode of Live Delay, we are in for a real treat as we get to deliver a smorgasbord of music from a really special event. In Episode 275 we are privileged to showcase artists that played at the Return to White Chairs Volume Two. Return to White Chairs is a reunion event that celebrates the music and history between 1977 and 1987. A time in Brisbane where the counter culture of Punk was such an intense and bonded community fighting against the corrupt Bjeike Petersen regime. Conservatism gripped the Brisbane city and tried so hard to squeeze the life out of any opposition or form of cultural expression during this period. The bond between the musicians in the punk scene was so strong as they fought so hard to keep a scene alive and in doing so created some of the worlds most influential bands. Return to White Chairs as it’s website celebrates this time, the music, and the many people that loved and played in the scene. Playing at The Triffid on the 14th of O

    04/05/2019 Duración: 55min

CNT EVEN: CNT EVN are a relatively new band but their fresh sound and busy playing schedule has seen them become a formidable band about town, pulling crowds and fans along for the ride. CNT EVN released a debut EP called ‘Demo’ in September 2018 and with four tracks to it, it’s a damn enjoyable listen. They take their intensity to the stage and are comprised of Gemma Wyer on the Drums, Rita Braby hitting the Bass, Anthony Gray on the Guitar and fronted by Rae Hatch on Vocal and Keys. CNT EVN really bring something different to the table and it’s super exciting to hear. It has classic punk sounding structures with energetic fast paced riffs, big thumping bass, crashing drums and howling vocals but there is also the added synth factor which makes CNT EVN carve their own path and sound. They are snagging numerous support slots, building from strength to strength and even are facebook official as of February of 2019. Enough of the talk and more of the walk, recorded live at the Black Bear Lodge on the 1st

She has an impressive lyrical style which is only reinforced by the naturalness of her talents as an MC. P-UniQue spits with fire and commands the stage with an enigmatic energy. If there is one thing for sure it is that P-UniQue will definitely live up to her name. With her style and energy her music proves that she will be one to remember and you should not miss out on this artist. But if you don’t believe me, check it out for yourself, recorded live on the 8th of March 2019 as a part of PBS’ International Women’s Day programming. • Live Delay - Ep 261 - Tom Lyngcoln; Eyes Ninety

    16/12/2018 Duración: 55min

Tom Lyngcoln: Our first set is by Tom Lyngcoln and as a punter at this festival was one of my most anticipated acts of the line up. Tom Lyngcoln is a stalwart of the Australian music scene as a member of the beloved Nation Blue, Pale Heads and the phenomenal Harmony. A veteran of being in bands, a solo artist is something that Tom never intended to be but came out of necessity. He tells the story that he was performing solo shows to keep sharp and was performing songs from his bands. They didn’t really suit a solo performance so he wrote songs to suit a solo act which would then become his debut album Doming Home. An album that is so raw and natural you can hear him walk around the room, its a record that feels alive and his live performance is truly special. Just a man and a guitar, creating walls of noise before snapping into crushing silence. Recorded and Mixed by Branko Cosic Recorded at Sonic Masala Fest, Brisbane, 18th August 2018 Eyes Ninety: Next up we have a blistering set by Brisbane legends

Nova Scotia: Nova Scotia are a Brisbane band that I thought I’d only ever hear about. Every time they came up it was always with a reverence and a hint of dismay as I was informed they don’t really play anymore. Well that all changed with a reformation of sorts at 2018’s Sonic Masala Fest. Nova Scotia have been absent from the Brisbane scene for about 6 and a half years after their release in 2011 aptly titled Nova Scotia. Their rock and punk sensibilities are delivered with intensity intertwined with positive sounding riffs that make you feel stoked to be in the presence of music. With lead vocalist Scott moving to Melbourne this was a chance for diehard fans to get a long lost glimpse of one of their favourites and the crowd was heaving for their set. They were a force to be reckoned with on this reformed show, while they said it was the last you truly never know. Recorded at Sonic Masala Festival on the 18th of August 2018. Recorded and Mixed by Branko Cosic. Air Jordans: They released their debut re
