Graham begins by acknowledging Rosamund Pike's absolutely blinding performance and how deserving she was of winning the Golden Globe for best actress; however, he didn't find the film's topic appealing. Jocelyn adored the movie and how it portrays a woman (Marla Grayson) played by Rosamud Pike, who is unapologetically ruthless and ambitious. On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast Graham & Jocelyn discuss the much awaited film Coming 2 America, a sequel to Eddie Murphy's 1988 film Coming To America, starring himself and Arsenio Hall. Before delving into the main topic, Graham & Jocelyn also discussed the season finale of Wanda Vision which also took place on the same day of Coming 2 America's release. Graham & Jocelyn praised Disney's serious production approach to the series especially with the cinematic special effects displayed throughout the show's entire season. On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast Graham & Jocelyn discuss the movie Judas & The Black Messiah starring Daniel Kaluuya, Lakeith Stanfield, Dominique Fishback and a cast of supporting actors under the direction of Shaka King. Graham begins by explaining why the film isn't necessarily a biopic of Fred Hampton's life, but rather the circumstances leading to his assassination. Jocelyn provided a synopsis of the film and began to discuss the movie with Graham. On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the Amazon original movie 'Sound of Metal' starring Golden Globes nominated British actor Riz Ahmed, along with Olivia Cooke, and Paul Raci. Graham began by marveling at the fact that the film, which is about the story of a musician, has very little to do with music, or noise, but rather the profound impact of sudden silence. Jocelyn reflects upon Riz Ahmed's portrayal of the character of Ruben as he navigates his new condition of sudden deafness and finding a community of support as a recovering addict.  Jocelyn & Graham also discuss the fine lines that exists when an able-bodied actor or performer portrays a character with disability and Hollywood's tendency to wanting to "fix" the character's disability, but in this movie, we learn that not all disabled people see themselves as something or someone who needs "fixing." This and all of our podcast episodes will be available to watc

Graham & Jocelyn began by reviewing each category and their respective nominations and issued their predictions based on their whether they've seen, or read about the nominated works. After reviewing the nominations, Graham & Jocelyn discussed the big misses on the Golden Globes nominations, specifically the lack of nominations for Spike Lee's 'Da 5 Bloods' which should have been nominated for best movie, best director, and Delroy Lindo for best actor. On this episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the surprisingly sensational French-speaking Netflix original series 'Lupin.' The series stars French actor Omar Sy (Jurassic World), and a brilliant cast of actors. In this series, Sy plays Assane, the son of a west African immigrant whose father committed suicide after he was framed for a robbery he didn't do. As an orphan, Assane became obsessed with the book of the fictional character of Arsene Lupin, a highly intelligent and skillful "Gentleman and Thief."  Graham & Jocelyn wonder how the legend of Lupin has not made it into the English-speaking consciousness given the similarities of Lupin to other characters in the English-speaking folklore such as Robin Hood, Simon Templar, and even Sherlock Holmes. Graham & Jocelyn also review the series analyzing the characters and some of the most intense scenes (without spoilers!). Jocelyn gives Lupin a full 4 stars rating, and Graham concurs.  This

On this week's episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss HBO documentary film "Crazy Not Insane." The documentary focuses on the life work of renowned American psychiatrist Dr, Dorothy Lewis, who pioneered the study of childhood abuse and brain trauma in convicted murderers, serial killers on death row. The film narrates and shows Dr. Lewis's work both as she worked with some of America's most notorious serial killers such as Theodore Bundy and Arthur Shawcross, among others. On this week's episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss the Netflix original movie 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' starring Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman, and a fantastic ensemble of actors; which includes Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo and Michael Potts, also featuring Taylour Paige. The film is based on a play of the same title by August Wilson, and it's directed by George C Wolfe with a screenplay by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Graham & Jocelyn began by acknowledging the effort to transpose an original play into a film without negating the original stage play essence. On this week's episode of Kickin' ' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham hosts the podcast solo as Jocelyn was unwell at the time of recording. Graham began by asking listeners to be lenient and bare with him as he attempts to "fly solo" on this episode discussing the Amazon Prime Video mini -series  "Small Axe," an anthology of 5 movies directed by Academy Award-winning British filmmaker Steve McQueen.  Graham explains that Small Axe is collection of stories about the lives of West Indian immigrants in London during the 1960's and 1970's.  As of now,  only 3 out of 5 films in Small Axe are available to stream on Prime Video and they are: 'Mangrove,' 'Lovers Rock,' and 'Red, White & Blue.' Graham begins by addressing the controversy surrounded by the book; which at the time of its publication, became a point of argument in which  people on the conservative political spectrum touted the book as a testament of its author achieving the "American Dream" by rising out of the poverty-stricken Appalachia region of America to an Ivy League college graduated lawyer. Graham & Jocelyn began by appealing to listeners in the U.S. to remember to vote on Tuesday, Nov 3, and emphasized on the importance of this year's election.  Graham brought up the oddity of how the United States is the only country he's lived where national election day is not a holiday.
