My human conversation in this episode is with the lovely Catherine Williams, who makes books beautiful for the reader. We chat about how Catherine started her career which is far removed from what she does today. We also talk about the journey of a book from when it's written by the author to when it's read by the reader. Quite a lot happens and Catherine's expertise helps to make a book much more readable and beautiful. As she rightly says, a reader should not notice how a book is laid out, they should only consume every bit of the content and enjoy it. My conversation today is with the fabulous Vafa Taleban. Born in Shiraz in Iran - yes, where the famous wine comes from, she grew up in what she believed to be a normal world. To me it was far from normal. When she was 16 she moved to the UK - as she says 'kicking and screaming' and started a journey of learning a new language, studying and building herself a professional career. Quite something when you are in a very strange environment from what you're used to. At last I got to speak to this legend who I call my 'brother from another mother' due to the fact that we speak about sales in exactly the same way. Many sales coaches and trainers say what they think we all want to hear but both Dale and I have walked everything that we talk about. Here we discuss life, his journey from a young man to where he is today, and how our Dad's were indeed our heroes and showed us what sales was truly about - connection and relationships. What a great and inspiring human conversation with this young man all the way from New York. Yes someone so young who has already done so much and has such a fabulous outlook on life. Jordan Gross is a writer, leadership coach, speaker, and self-proclaimed multipotentialite. Jordan is a trailblazer for positive change, optimism, and the belief that our daily actions can help us all overcome stress and anxiety We talk about his journey and chasing the dream - but how he kept chasing the dream until it felt right. Even when the pressures around us tell us we 'should' be doing certain things in a certain order - he followed his heart every time and still gained a breadth of experience because he tried stuff! This inspiring conversation leads us to hear about how he wrote his book and developed his Cloud 9 concept which is really interesting. Ben was just 27 when he and his girlfriend, Jazz, were hit by a car while on holiday in the Dominican Republic in September 2010. Such a great conversation with the inspiring Brian Schulman from 'Voice Your Vibe'. Brian has lived with Tourettes and the difficulties it has thrown at him and yet he is such a happy and inspirational human being. When people face adversity they choose to either live by it or die from it - hypothetically.
