The Red Sox home struggles continued with a 7-5 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday afternoon.  Diamondbacks came back from a 4-0 deficit to complete the series sweep over the Sox.  Arizona improves to 20-5 over its last 25 games and the D-Backs ​are now 19 games over .500 for the 1st time this season.  Sox are 5 games over .500 for the 1st time since June 30th at 44-39 with win over Padres.     -----Comeback D-Backs: The Diamondbacks were held scoreless over the 1st 4 Innings by Tanner Houck but scored 3 in the 5th and 3 more in the 6th on a 3-run Home Run from Eugenio Suarez. Sox swept in a series for the 5th time this season and the 3rd time at Fenway. Suarez had 8 hits and 10 RBIs in the 3 Games for Arizona.  -----On the Board 1st: Tristan Casas, who went 0-for-4 with 4 strikeouts on Saturday, gave the Red Sox their 1st lead of the Series against the Diamondbacks with a 2-out, solo Home Run in the 1st Inning off Merrill Kelly. The Red Sox dropped their 2nd straight to the Arizona Diamondbacks, losing 4-1, at Fenway Park Saturday afternoon.  The Red Sox avoided being shutout with Masa Yoshida knocking in the Sox only run with an RBI Double in the 9th Inning.  Zac Gallen gave up just 2 singles and struck out 9 hitters over 6 Scoreless Innings for the Diamondbacks and he notched his 10th win of the season.  -----No Home Cooking: The Sox have lost 6 of their last 8 at Fenway and are 5 Under .500 at Home (29-33) for the 6th time this season.    -----Lost Series: With Saturday's loss, the Red Sox lost their 2nd Series in their last 8 Series, both at Fenway (swept by Houston).  The Sox need to win Sunday in the series finale to avoid being swept for the 5th time this season and 3rd time at Fenway.        -----Tough Day at the Dish: The Red Sox were held to 5 hits by Gallen and 3 Arizona relievers.  Sox hitters struck out 13 times with Tristan Casas going 0-for-4 with 4 strikeouts.  -----Kutter's Day: Kutter Crawford matched Zero's with Za

The Red Sox returned home after a successful 4-3 Road Trip through Baltimore and Houston and dropped the series opener, 12-2, to the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox closed out their 7-Game Road Trip with an impressive 4-1 win over the Astros Wednesday afternoon at Minute Maid Park.  David Hamilton hit a 2-out solo Home Run in the 9th to provide a little more insurance.  The Red Sox 6 relievers combined for 4.1 scoreless innings a day after going 4 scoreless Tuesday night.  Sox went 4-3 on their Road Trip through Baltimore and Houston.            -----In & Out Of Trouble: Greg Weissert gave up singles to the 1st 2 batters in the 7th inning.  He struck out Jon Singleton and then walked the next hitter to load up the bases.  Weissert got Alex Bregman to pop up down the rightfield line for the 2nd out.  Brennan Bernardino entered and struck out Yordan Alvarez swinging to leave the bases full.  -----Slamming the Door Shut: After Bernardino left the bases loaded in the 7th, Luis Garcia struck out 2 in working a perfect 8th Inning.  Kenley Jansen worked in 4 of the previous 5 games, so he was not available Wednesday.  Chris Martin worked a scoreless 9th and stru

The Red Sox evened up their series at 1-1 with the Astros with a 6-5 victory Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park. The Red Sox are now 3-3 on their current 7-Game Road Trip that wraps up Wednesday afternoon. The Sox ended a 7-game losing streak against the Astros that dated back to last season. ----- Have A Night!- Jarren Duran had a huge night at the plate in leading the Red Sox to their 1st win of the season against the Astros. Duran broke a 5-5 tie in the 8th Inning with his 2nd Home Run of the Series and his 17th on the year. Duran led off the game with a Double and went 4-for-4 on the night with a walk and 3 runs scored. Duran now has 68 Extra-Base Hits thru his 1st 123 Games. He leads the American League with 38 Doubles. ----- Close the Door: Kenley Jansen entered for the 9th Inning (his 4th appearance in 5 games) in a 1-run Game and retired the side in order to close the door on the Sox 66th win of the season. The Red Sox were walked off in the Bottom of the 9th Inning by the Astros in the series opener Monday night at Minute Mait Park.  Final Score: Astros 5.  Red Sox 4.  Yainer Diaz hit a solo Home Run off of Kenley Jansen to win it.  Astros are 4-0 on the season against the Red Sox.  Jarren Duran and Masataka Yoshida hit Home Runs in the win. The Red Sox could not pull off the series win in Baltimore and had to settle for a series split with the Orioles with Sunday's 4-2 loss in the series finale at Camden Yards.  Rob Refsnyder hit a solo Home Run in the 9th, but the Red Sox could not draw any closer.  The Red Sox outhit the Orioles, 11-3, in the loss.               -----Streak is Alive: The Red Sox scored their only run of the game in the 8th inning and avoided being shutout.  Sox extend their streak to 66 straight games without being shutout.  The Red Sox were shutout 5 times through their 1st 57 games and the last time they were blanked came at Fenway against the Tigers on May 30th. -----On the Board 1st: Kutter Crawford & Albert Suarez matched Zero's thru the 1st 4 Innings on Sunday.  The Orioles got on the board in the Bottom of the 5th against Crawford with Adley Rutschman hitting a solo Home Run to rightfield.  It was his 18th on the season.  Crawford came back and retired the next 3 hitters.          -----Crawford's Day: Crawford did n

Rafael Devers homered in his 2nd straight game and Brayan Bello picked up his 1st win since mid-July. The Sox have won 4 of 6 and are back to 8 games over .500. ----- 2-Out Magic- The Red Sox went in front in the Top of the 7th and kept the lead for the rest of the night. Tristan Casas reached with a single and went 1st to 3rd on a pinch-hit Double from Masa Yoshida. Both scored on a 2-out, 2-run Single from Jarren Duran to make it 3-1. Rafael Devers launched a 2-run Home Run into the seats in rightfield in the 8th to give the Sox a 5-1 lead. ​ ----- The Pen: Lucas Sims worked out of a bases loaded jam in the Bottom of the 7th and preserved a 3-1 lead by getting Anthony Santander on a ground out. The Red Sox tagged Corbin Burnes for a career-high 8 earned runs and in the end managed to hold on for a 12-10 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards Friday night.  Red Sox avoided a 3rd straight loss and evened up the series at 1-1 with the win.  The Red Sox clubbed 4 Home Runs and never trailed at any point in the victory.    -----Tristan's Back- Tristan Casas was activated from the Injured List and back in the lineup for the Red Sox Friday night.  Casas singled in his 2nd at-bat in the 3rd Inning and scored in front of Rafael Devers, who wacked his 26th Home Run of the season to give the Red Sox a 4-1 advantage.  Casas started an inning-ending 3-6-3 Double Play in the Bottom of the 2nd. The Orioles hit 2 Home Runs in the win and have won 6 of the 1st 7 meetings against the Red Sox this season. The Red Sox could not finish off their series sweep against the Texas Rangers Wednesday night, and ended up losing the finale, 9-7, in 10 Innings. The Sox were 1 out away from securing the win, but Wyatt Langford tied the game at 7 in the 9th Inning with a 2-out, 3-run Home Run off of Josh Winckowski. The Red Sox went 2-4 on their Home Stand against Houston and Texas. ----- The Long Ball: The Rangers hit 4 Home Runs in their comeback win over the Red Sox Wednesday night. Adolis Garcia hit 2 Home Runs. Langford's Home Run in the 9th tied the game up and Jonah Heim hit a 2-run shot off of Zack Kelly in the Top of the 10th Inning to put the Rangers in front for good. ----- Quick Responses: The Red Sox answered with runs in the home frame after the Rangers had scored in the top of the inning on 3 different occasions. The Red Sox made it back-to-back wins and they clinched a series win with Tuesday night's 9-4 win over the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park.  The Red Sox added to a 1-0 lead with 5 runs in the 5th inning.  With taking the 1st 2 Games of the Series, the Sox will go for their 6th series sweep of the season and their 1st of the season at Fenway with Wednesday's series finale.           -----Kutter's Night: Kutter Crawford entered Tuesday's start having allowed 13 Home Runs and 22 runs over his previous 4 outings. Crawford retired the 1st 16 hitters he faced before allowing 3 straight hits with 1 out in the 6th.
