The Red Sox got back in the win column Monday Night with a 5-4 walk-off win in the bottom of the 10th inning against the Texas Rangers in the opener of their 3-Game Series at Fenway.  The win ended the Red Sox 4-Game losing streak.  Boston with its first 3 runs, scoring on a sacrifice fly and a pair of bases loaded walks.  It's the Sox 5th walk-off win of the season.  The Rangers have lost 5 of their last 6.        6-8 in Extra-Innings.-----Heros of the Night: Enmanuel Valdez tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the 10th with a ground-rule Double that scored the ghost-runner, Romy Gonzalez.  Valdez scored the winning run from 3rd on a 2-out RBI single from Rob Refsnyder.  -----Bello On The Bump: Brayan Bello worked 6 quality innings in Monday night's opener.  Bello tossed 4 scoreless innings to start and allowed his only run of the night in the 5th inning on an RBI single from Marcus Semien. The Red Sox lost their starting pitcher, James Paxton, in the 1st inning and the Sox lost the series finale to the Astros, 10-2, Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park.  The Red Sox have been swept at home for the 2nd straight year in an August series against the Astros and for the 4th time this season.   -----Short Outing for The Big Maple: James Paxton allowed a single to leadoff hitter Jose Altuve on the 1st pitch of the game.  Paxton had 2 outs on just 2 pitches with Alex Bregman hitting into a ground ball double play on the 1st pitch that he saw from Paxton.  Next hitter, Yordan Alvarez reached on an infield single, but on the play, Paxton went to cover 1st and came up hobbling.  He left the game having thrown only 5 pitches and was barely able to put any weight on his right leg.  Red Sox announced that Paxton suffered a right calf strain.    -----On the Board: Astros got their 1st run of the game in the 3rd when Mauricio Dubon scored from 3rd on a wild pitch from Brennan Bernardino.  Astros added on with 5 run

The Red Sox lost their 3rd in a row overall with Saturday's 5-4 setback to the Astros in the middle game of their 3-Game Series at Fenway Park.  Red Sox hitters managed only 6 hits and struck out 15 times against Houston pitchers.  The Red Sox need to win Sunday's finale to avoid being swept for the 2nd straight year at Fenway by the Astros and or the 4th time this season.  -----The Red Sox had an opportunity in the Bottom of the 9th to at least time the game, but closer Josh Hader managed to slam the door shut on the threat.  Rafael Devers led off the 9th with a Double and Hader came back and got the next 3 hitters including Romy Gonzalez on a strikeout to end the game.  -----Tip Your Cap: Spencer Arrighetti earned the win for the Astros Saturday.  Arrighetti struck out 12 hitters the last time out in a win over the Tampa Bay Rays and on Saturday he established a new career-high with 13 strikeouts.  He walked only 1 in earning his 5th win of the season.  -----1-Man Wrecking Crew: Yordan Alverez hit a 2-out s

The Red Sox return to Fenway Park Friday night was not a successful one as the Sox dropped an 8-4 decision in the series opener against the Houston Astros. The Sox have lost 2 in a row overall and 2 in a row at Fenway. The Sox had an opportunity to get to .500 at home for just the 2nd time this season Friday night. ----- Ugly 7th for the Pen: Red Sox took a 3-1 lead to the Top of the 7th Inning. Lucas Sims was the 1st reliever into the game for Boston. Sims gave up a leadoff Triple to Jake Meyers, struck out the next hitter and then gave up a game-tying, 2-run Home Run to Jose Altuve. The Astros ended up scoring 4 runs in the inning (all 4 charged to Sims) and collected 7 hits (6 in a row at 1 point) in the 7th after managing just 4 hits over the 1st 6 Innings. ----- Ugly 7th Part II: Sox threated in the home 7th but were turned away and ended up leaving the bases full. The Red Sox ended their 6-Game Road Trip with an 8-4 Loss to the Royals Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium. Royals went in front with a 5-run 4th Inning and never trailed again. Bobby Witt Jr was the hitting star for the Royals with 2 Home Runs and a 2-run Double. ----- On the Hill with Kutter: Kutter Crawford entered Wednesday's start having allowed 12 Home Runs in his previous 3 outings. Crawford gave up a solo Home Run to Bobby Witt Jr. in the Bottom of the 1st and that got the Royals on the board 1st. Crawford issued a leadoff walk and a 2-out walk in the 2nd and the Royals tacked on another run on a 2-out, RBI single from Michael Massey. Crawford took a 4-2 lead to the Bottom of the 4th, but he didn't make it out of the inning. Again, he allowed a leadoff walk and 2-out walk and the Royals made him pay. The Red Sox clinched their current series and their season series with the Royals by holding on and winning Tuesday night's game, 6-5, at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. The Red Sox came from behind and beat the Rangers, 7-2, in the series finale Sunday afternoon in Arlington, TX. It was the Red Sox 25th come-back win of the season. Sox take 2 of 3 in Arlington and win their 2nd straight series after losing their 1st 3 Series out of the All-Star Break. ----- Wilyer Goes Yard 2X!: Wilver Abreu tied the game at 2-2 with a solo Home Run in the 4th Inning. It was his 2nd of the Series. His 2nd of the game and 3rd of the Series came with 2 runners on in the 6th Inning and gave the Sox a 6-2 lead. The 2nd Home Run traveled 430' and was his 1st this season against a lefty pitcher. The Texas Rangers had 2 big innings against Tanner Houck and the Red Sox bullpen and evened up the Series at 1-1 with a 7-4 victory Saturday night in Arlington. Rob Refsnyder went 4-for-4 with a Double, 2 solo Home Runs, a walk, and 3 RBIs.
